Is hacking insurance worth it?

Check your website for Malware here

The first point to understand is that standard business insurance does not cover data breaches or almost any other loss involving data. Standard insurance covers tangible losses and damage. Data isn’t tangible. When you have a website designed and built there is never a promise that hackers can’t get into the system. As a matter of fact you can bet on at least one time in your website’s life it will be compromised.

What BIB offers is a way to get a system repaired and backed up just in case this happen to you. You can always do this on your own but if you need someone else to perform this task, just give us a shout.

Virus liability: If your website gets hacked BIB trouble shoots the site, finds the problem and corrects it in one of 3 ways depending on the package you choose.

  1. Clean up the infected files and or replace core files if not fixable
  2. Re-install all core files (WordPress) without removing your content
  3. Completely upgrade from what you have to WordPress as a website rebuild.

We also try to close any wholes or back doors used by the hacker in the first place. BIB creates website on many servers which includes the clients own server. With this flexibility there is no way stop hackers for good so a backup of your site is the best.

Complete Running Monthly Backup:
The best thing to make sure your site is safe is to have a backup of all files before the time of getting hacked. Since you have no idea when this will happen it recommended to have a monthly backup. Most sites don’t change content everyday so monthly is normally ok but for bloggers, newspapers and others that change data weekly you might need a weekly backup.

The choice is up to you on how you protect your WordPress website.
